2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid SUV Preview – Design, Performance, Features & Price

Electric models from most of the Japanese brands are showing up very recently. Additionally, the electric cars from Japanese manufacturing companies are providing the best feature of any other brand around the world.

The first-generation Toyota Venza was introduced in 2008. The production began in the same year at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky. The first-generation Venza got most of its body parts supplied from the United States of America. The Venza was even compared with some of the famous Toyota manufactured models like Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Toyota Highlander, and Toyota Harrier.

The 2022 version of Toyota Venza is going to be a carry-forward model. The model faced major changes in its previous generation so, Toyota is not thinking of bringing any in the upcoming version. The 2022 Toyota Venza will add three different trim levels and they are LE, XLE, and Limited.

Today, in the current market the upcoming Venza will face fierce competition from another segment like the 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid, 2022 Honda CR-V, and 2022 Lexus NX 300h.

Engine and Performance of 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid SUV

The engine is the main compartment of the Venza that attracts customers from all around. Under the hood, there lies a 2.5-L Inline-4 cylinder engine along with three electric motors. The engine inside is quite powerful and provides the best performance in its segment.

The engine of the model is capable of 219 hp along with 206 lb-ft of torque. This power outcome from the model is just for the gasoline engine not coming out from the electric motors. Now, the electric motors present inside are all powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. Two electric motors are placed in the front axle, and one is placed at the rear axle of the SUV.

2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid Infotainment Features

The Venza comes with an eCVT transmission. This means that the transmission is electronically controlled. It is the eCVT transmission of the Venza that helps equally distribute all the power to all the wheels of the model. Interestingly, when the SUV is in search of extra traction the rear electric motor sends up to 80% of the available torque output to the rear wheels.

The electric motors present inside the Venza play a crucial role in engine performance. In some way, we could say that Toyota has inserted an interesting engine setup under the hood of Venza. Toyota, as a manufacturing company has used such kind of setup in its other models like the RAV4 and the Highlander.

Now, let us check out the engine and performance of the 2022 Toyota Venza’s competitors in the table given below:-

With $2000 more than the Honda CR-V, the Toyota Venza Hybrid becomes powerful in the segment. The Toyota Venza might outcome the highest horsepower but, its torque outcome is lesser than the Honda CR-V. The Honda CR-V includes only 2 electric motors inside and that helps it reach 0-60 MPH in just 7.5 seconds. But, the engine of Honda does not help it accelerate as fast as Venza in the long run. The Toyota Venza completes the quarter-mile run in 15.8 seconds which is 0.2 seconds faster than the Honda CR-V. Unfortunately, the Ford Escape in the segment is with the lowest engine performance.

Interior of 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid SUV

The upcoming version of Venza will not see any major changes in its interior. The overall interior layout of the upcoming Venza is going to be the same. But, some sources have revealed that the interior of the 2022 Venza is somewhat inspired by Lexus.

Other than that, the interior of the model looks good with all the materials well placed. Toyota has used a practical approach inside and placed all the features and materials neatly. The materials used by the manufacturing company are of high quality. One will surely have a tough time finding cheap materials inside the Venza.

The lower two trim levels of the Venza LE, and XLE comes with cloth upholstery as standard. On the other hand, the Limited trim level of Venza features SofTex simulated leather seats. The topmost trim of the Venza features the best interior than any of its lower trim levels.

The front cabin of the Venza offers a long list of features for the passenger and the driver. There is an ample amount of passenger head, shoulder, and legroom in both the cabins of Venza. The front seats are highly comfortable and are placed well for a better front view.
