General Motors’ first mass-market entry into the crucial electric SUV industry will be the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. Although the Hummer EV SUV and Cadillac Lyriq officially made their debuts first, they don’t have the same broad appeal as this new sporty-looking EV model. The Blazer EV, however, shares the same Ultium platform with those models and the future Silverado EV. This enables General Motors to offer the Blazer EV in a variety of drivetrain and powertrain configurations, enabling it to go 320 miles between charges, as stated by the manufacturer.
While GM has not yet provided any details regarding the batteries themselves, we do know that there will be two different options available: a normal battery and a bigger unit. In fact, GM had to increase the Blazer EV’s wheelbase by nine inches in comparison to the current Blazer model because of the bigger battery.

The Blazer EV truly distinguishes itself from the present model inside. From the minute you open the door, you can tell that not a single component between the two Blazers is common. Powertrain in 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV will be available with three battery capacities, two rear-wheel-drive options, standard and performance all-wheel drive, and a front-wheel-drive unit.
Front and smaller rear drive units are present with standard AWD. RWD provides a more dynamic drive and more power than FWD. The smaller motor and small or medium battery options are available for FWD. The way the trims work is as follows:
1LT: With cloth seats and a monochrome base decor, this vehicle has a 247-mile range on a single charge and comes standard with front-wheel drive and a tiny motor up front. The motor and the small and medium batteries anticipated to be in the base model, as well as the horsepower and torque values, have not been disclosed.
2LT: The smaller of the two rear motors is used for optional AWD in addition to the standard FWD. It will be capable of traveling up to 293 miles. There are currently no performance specifications.
RS: You can pick between the normal FWD with a medium battery pack and the RWD with the larger motor and medium battery pack. Dual motors for AWD are an option. With a range of up to 320 miles per charge, this trim has the greatest range. The RS sports a warmed flat-bottom steering wheel and standard 21-inch wheels.

Depending on the model you choose, the Chevrolet Blazer EV is supported by 11.5 kW Level 2 charging as well as DC-fast charging capabilities up to 190kW when it ultimately becomes necessary to top off the battery. According to the automaker’s estimates, buyers should be able to add 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes at the charger with that kind of speed.
With a hands-free start, there is no button to press when starting an EV. The key fob authorizes the SUV to move when the door is closed and the brake is applied. To open the tailgate without using your hands, the fob communicates with sensors in the back of the car.

The high-performance SS with standard AWD ($65,995) will come after them, and before the year is out, Chevrolet will also offer the entry-level 1LT, which starts at $44,995.
