Citroen e-Spacetourer
The PSA Group electrifies its van models on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) platform. The variants of Opel and Peugeot have already been presented. Now the French are pushing the electric drive variant of the Citroen Spacetourer. The PSA Group is a major French manufacturer of automobiles. The company is the second largest car manufacturer in the world, after General Motors. It is also the world’s largest automotive parts supplier. The vehicle was presented at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover.
Interior Design Of Citroen e-Spacetourer
The interior is designed by the PSA Group’s interior design team in Paris. The seats are upholstered in high-quality leather, and the seats are designed to be comfortable. The seats can be folded, moved and even fully removed to maximize cargo space. The cargo space is 7.4 cubic metres, and there’s a foldable table, a cup holder, and a charging port. The two rows of seats have large adjustment possibilities on rails, and the second row of seats can be turned so that you sit against each other. The interior is finished in a special matte and gloss white finish, and it has a black roof, black interior and floor made of carpet.
Exterior Highlights Of Citroen e-Spacetourer
The e-SpaceTourer is offered with the M body style, so it is 4.95 metres long, 1.92 metres wide and 1.90 metres high. The only tell-tale signs that its electric is the charging port on the left-hand front wing, grille blanking trim at the front of the vehicle and a new monogrammed ‘e’ on the right side of the grille and on the tailgate. Despite the various seating options available for the e-SpaceTourer, this is an all-in-one vehicle. Aside from the Business version offering an extra seat at the front, dimensions for both models are exactly the same.
Other exterior features of the Citroen e-SpaceTourer include a large front wing and a rear wing. The vehicle is available in four different colours: White, Blue, Black and Red.
Powertrain Accentuation Of Citroen e-Spacetourer
The e-Spacetourer is powered by a 100 kW, giving it a 330 km one-charge range on the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) emissions and economy test cycle. Maximum power from the 100 kW electric motor is equivalent to 136 hp, and there’s 260 Nm of torque, too. The maximum speed is limited to 130 km / h, but you can choose from three driving modes – Normal, Eco, and Power – that alternately maximise range or performance.
The battery is a 96 V lithium-ion polymer battery, which is more powerful than the previously used 48 V battery. The capacity of the battery is 6.2 kWh, and it can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes. There’s also up to 11kW on-board AC charging capability for topping up from a wallbox at home or at a commercial premises in a couple of hours. The company says that the van is a game-changer for the eco-crowd, because it has the longest range of any of its competitors.
Additional Features And Safety Aids Of Citroen e-Spacetourer
Inside the center console uses an adapted dashboard with power meter, battery charge level indicator, consumption and energy flow, while on the dashboard there is a 7-inch touch screen where the statistics of consumption or load can be configured. The screen is featured with navigation, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, The locations and prices of filling stations and car parks, weather information and local points-of-interest are also available.
The vehicle incorporates 15 technologies, such as the hands-free sliding doors, Top Rear Vision, which offer an overview of what is happening behind the vehicle, the Active Safety Brake, which warns the person driving and activates the brakes in the presence of cyclists, pedestrians, animals or other vehicles, or the head-up display, which provides the most important driving data without having to take your eyes off the road.
It also features a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an audio system with a surround sound system. Storage compartments can be found throughout the cabin that offers up to 74 litres. The lower glovebox features an audio jack, plus 12 V and USB sockets, while cup holders are usefully positioned either side of the dashboard and there are also two large front door bins that can hold 1.5 litre bottles.

With modifications, Citroen has altered the prices down and change the models available to UK customers. The brand new line-up sees the basic list price fall by more than ₹ 14.5 lakhs, with entry-level models now costing ₹ 31 lakhs. The e-SpaceTourer is a good option for larger families that do local journeys, or taxi drivers that work shorter routes Citroen are currently reviewing the SpaceTourer range with a view to potentially being in line with other brands in terms of trim level offering as well as equipment and pricing. This is currently in the planning phase at the present so nothing is confirmed yet.
