Launch Of Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV In India By Next Year

On the 26th of April 2022, Tuesday, the South Korea-based auto manufacturer, Hyundai Motors comes with glad tidings that they set to bring in their second electric car in India. It will be Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV that will be delivered to the electric customers following their first electric beast, Hyundai Kona Electric which has already coped with the top leading brand’s sedans. The auto major has disclosed the launch year 2022, but the exact date is not announced yet, but we are expecting its royal entry by the month of the festive season, October. While Kia India sets up to launch their Kia EV 6, Hyundai gears up to attain their aim of expanding their battery electric vehicle line-up in order to be part of the electric future in our country.

Hyundai is looking up on Ioniq 5 as the company’s testimony for sustainability as the words of the CEO unveiled their desire to broaden their product range and to aim at electric mobility to build up an enlightened and sustainable future. Hyundai Motor India has already committed to the expansion of our BEV line-up to 6 models by 2028 and today, with great pride we are announcing the introduction of Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV in CY 22 in India”.

Their plan to release this sedan was already disclosed at an event in Delhi – NCR where the same auto major showcased its compact electric car. In addition, Hyundai has also revealed that they will develop their OEM’s battery-electric platform in our nation up to 6 models by the year 2028.

Its christening name, ‘Ioniq’ itself is mysterious enough to reveal the combination of ‘ion’ and ‘unique’. Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV will surely make electric vehicle admirers belittle other powerful and revolutionary car brands. This can be visible in its achievement to attain the World Car Of The Year (WCOFTY) of 2022 drawing enlightened dawn for Hyundai to claim the throne in the Indian auto market.

Hyundai Motors presents its fine-tuned crossover, Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV in two variants – RWD and AWD. In the RWD model, an electric motor is mounted on the rear axle that puts out 217hp of power and torque at a rate of 350Nm. Whereas, the AWD variant is loaded with two electric motors that power each axle and thus churn out 305hp power and a torque of 605Nm. RWD and AWD lodge two battery packs of capacity 72.6kWh and 58kWh respectively. The rear-wheel drive train is claimed to boast of a range of 451km and the all-wheel one runs at a range of 430km.

This Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV all-electric SUV crossover is structured on the company’s skateboard platform named, E-GMP ( Electric Global Modular Platform) under the automaker’s  ‘Beyond Mobility’ sponsorship. The exterior styling is a breathtaking highlight point in which its sharp contour and trellis is lightened up by U-shaped dual LED lighting and LED taillights with a rectangular shape. It runs over 20 inches wheels and integrated spoiler, bulged out door handles, raked glass also add up to its charming look. The inner cabin engulfs a sporty look integrated with a minimalistic design and a comfy area. Most of the stuff inside it is made up of environment-friendly materials that elevate its sustainable feature. Other cutting-edge technological aspects inside it are dual screens of 12inches, a HUD, BlueLink connectivity, etc.

As we are expecting its all-India sale by October, the production is expected to commence by September 2022. All these features loaded Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV will be available to the Indian electric market at a price range of 35 lakh to 45 lakh ex-showroom.
