MG Marvel R Set To Launch In Norway In Autumn

The MG Marvel R is a rebadged Roewe Marvel R, a China-made 5G-capable electric SUV. The MG Marvel R is the first vehicle in its carmaker’s lineup to offer a 5G smart cockpit, with new style and MG insignia.

Here’s everything you need to know about the MG Marvel R e-SUV that will be available in Europe later this year, beginning in Norway in the autumn.

Design of MG Marvel R:

While most of the MG Marvel R is identical to the Roewe donor, the front and back fascia’s have been redesigned to seem sharper and more aerodynamic. The front end receives an LED right bar that runs the length of the vehicle, and the headlamps have been relocated to the front bumper. Except for the new set of wheels, the side profile is basically unchanged.

For a techy flair, the rear end gets an LED light strip that joins the tail lamps.

The MG Marvel R is substantially larger than, say, a Hyundai Kona EV, with an overall length of 4674 mm, a width of 1919 mm, and a height of 1618 mm. Even the wheelbase is 200 mm greater than the Hyundai, at 2800 mm.

Interior of MG Marvel R:

The MG Marvel R has a roomy interior with a dual-tone color scheme. A massive 19.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display with 5G connectivity takes Centre stage on the dashboard. A panoramic sunroof, multi-zone automatic temperature control with heat pump, 3-spoke multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, and MG Pilot advanced driver aid technologies are all included in the e-SUV (ADAS).

Overall, the cabin is well-designed and appears to be quite nice. The Marvel R has a 357-liter cargo area that can be expanded to 1,396 liters. A front trunk with a capacity of 150 liters is included in the two-wheel-drive models.

Specifications of MG Marvel R:

There are two versions of the MG Marvel R: rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Both variants will have two rear-wheel-drive motors, while the all-wheel-drive model will have an additional front-wheel-drive motor. The tri-motor combination will produce a net output of 212 kW/284 horsepower and 665Nm, which should be enough to propel this e-SUV from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds and to a top speed of 124 mph.
