To fit the battery inside it, engineers have broken it up into several sections to consume the space vacated by the fuel tank, catalysts, and exhaust of the combustion as seen in regular 208. You will also see a transverse section under the front seats. That means, they fitted the battery without compromising with the foot room or boot space. The only change in e-208 is the wider rear track. It seems that the company decided to electrify this car when the platform itself was in development. The mini version has space for just 32.5kWh., and still needs some room for height lift.

So how are you going to identify this iconic electric Peugeot? The front lion badge with a blue tint, an ‘e’ on the rear pillar, blanked off ‘grille’, different alloys, no exhaust pipe, are some of the signs of e-208.

It’s available with the same trim levels – Active, Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, and GT Line – as its petrol or diesel-driven sisters.

Pricing of Peugeot e-208

It will be one of the best cars for driving in its class and will be competitively priced too. The INR on-road price of this car hasn’t been released yet, but the company is expecting to launch it in 2021.

Earlier, buyers used to decide which cars to buy depending on their engine and transmission capacity. With the introduction of Peugeot e-208, people learned the addition of electric cars to diesel or petrol, manual or auto. The e-208 would impress people who liked 208 but then looked for the powertrain. And people who wanted an electric car and then looked for a Peugeot e-208.

The Peugeot 208  is a supermini car but it has some flaws. It has less space, and not so quiet to drive on the road. And the e-208 has improvised on those flaws with some attractions too.

The Peugeot e-208’s perfect combination of range, value, easy personality, and desirability of buyers make it one of the best picks.
