The electric industry in India is standing in a phase of rapid development whereas all other world powers have already achieved it. But, the demand for electric cars is escalating due to several reasons such as environmental dilapidation, an increase in the fuel price of Internal combustion engine vehicles. The period April to September 2021 saw an upgrowth of 234% due to the sale of 6261 units electric cars whereas only 1872 units were sold in April – September 2021. This year ranks the leading brands like Tata Motors, MG Motors, Hyundai, and Mahindra as those who sold out more electric cars.

Tata Motors has only two EV in the line-up in which the third one, Xpres T EV is only available for fleet owners. Tata Nexon EV is ranked as the best-selling SUV in India that thrashed Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. It has gained a YoY growth of 88.7% and thus possesses a market share of 62% in 2021. Between the period April and October 1586 units were sold and led to 439% of growth in the last year, in which the surge from November to December was 29%. It has won the Winner of Subcompact SUV of the Year Award at the 2018 edition of NDTV’s Car and Bike Awards.

It holds a Permanent Magnet synchronous motor that can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 10 seconds with a peak torque of 395Nm and generates 134bhp. The pricing starts from 23.71 lakh.

This all-electric sedan has also attained the same fate as the Hyundai Kona with a down growth of 75%. Only two pieces were sold in this year whereas the last year saw the sale of 8 pieces. It has a 1461cc motor with peak power and maximum torque of 65bhp and 160Nm respectively. This large and spacious electric vehicle wages price starting from  5.28 lakh to 11.80 lakh.
