Kapil Shelke, the founder and CEO of Tork Motors launched two electric bikes on 26 January 2022. The event was very much alike to the event of Ola Electric and Simple Energy which introduced new wagons on the previous Independence day. Literally, this venture is the company’s second entry into the electric two-wheeler space in India. Because, this Pune-based establishment already has introduced its first electric motorcycle based on the T6X concept on September 30, 2016. It costs around Rs 1.25 lakh and offered a claimed range of 100 km on a single charge, thus performing just as a 200 cc petrol-powered bike.
After six years of toil, with the back-up of big business tycoons like Bharat Forge and Ola cab founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, Tork Motors has launched one standard version, Tork Kratos, and the powerful variant named, Tork Kratos R.
Style And Design of Tork Kratos & Tork Kratos R
As we mentioned earlier, standard Kratos and Kratos R are based on the T6X model. Now, they came onto market with a variety of colors after 6 years, whereas the regular one is restricted to sole white color scheme. But, the array of colors for Kratos R is white, red, blue, and black. They are structured with a trellis frame and the least distance between the lower end of the vehicle body and road is measured to be 165 mm( Ground clearance), even though the battery pack is placed at the bottom. The alloy wheels of 17 inches are rounded with tubeless tire and both these electric two-wheelers have a carrying capacity of 150kg.
Engine And Performance Of Tork Kratos & Tork Kratos R
Tork company succeeded in designing their own brand-new motor debuted with Axial Flux Technology in which the maximum power in Regular Kratos is 7.5 kW and the powerful variant output peak power of 9.0 kW. But, the less powerful 7.5 kW motor is ideal for developing 5.36 hp and peak torque of 28 Nm and the robust one of 9.0 kW puts down a 6 hp and maximum torque of 38 Nm.
Both these e-vehicles can boast an IDC range of 180 km and a real range of 120 km on a single charge itself. If we are focusing on the performance level of Regular Kratos and Kratos R, the standard variant delivers the claimed top speed of 100 kmph whereas, the energetic one runs with the highest speed of 105 kmph. Also, the Regular Kratos can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 4 seconds and the R variant in 3.5 seconds respectively.
Battery And Charging Of Tork Kratos & Tork Kratos R
The motor is powered by a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a voltage of 48V and it is appreciable that the company itself dared to build their own battery-package called Tork LION. Its viable operation even during fluctuating weather conditions make it to keep the IP67 certification and it promises to deliver a range of 180 km on a single charge under optimal conditions.
Kratos and Kratos R come with both home chargers and fast chargers. They could get fully charged in four to five hours using a regular home charging unit. As the R variant possesses fast charging capability, it can strike up to 80 % of charge by taking less than one hour. These fast-charging centers are at leading spots like Lonavala and Lavasa. The company even offers an application called Tork Mobile app to locate these rapidly charging destinations.

Tork Motors mainly aimed at framing modern e-bikes loaded to brim with oriented specifications and exceptional features. And, these admirable features range from connectivity systems to riding modes to enable a smooth and satisfying drive experience for the buyers.
They possess three driving modes combined with reverse functionality and these modes are listed as Eco drive mode, City drive mode and Sports drive mode. The range at which both electric motorcycles could run up to are 120 km, 100 km and 70 km per charge respectively.
There also prevails an array of features like Geofencing, Vacation mode, Crash alert, Motor walk assist, Find my vehicle feature, Track mode analytics, and Smart charge analysis. Despite the fact that they lack several elements like Parking Assist, Hill assists, Kill switch, and Swift light, the additional qualities filled in these vacant spaces. They include a Battery indicator, Safe home feature, Anti-theft system, Hazard lights, LED lighting, LED DRLs, and Guide me home lights. It is also possessed with a Front glove box with a USB charging port, Regenerative braking, and the most attractive Over- The – Air (OTA) updates.
By this improved factor of OTA, the vehicle performance and features are updated and improved in a timely manner.
The CBS braking system that is comprised of a Front Disc brake and Rear Disc brake in addition to the Hydraulic Telescopic fork front suspension and Mono shock Hydraulic rear suspension is also remarkable in them. The estimation and displaying of speed are executed using Digital Tachometer and Speedometer. On the other hand, two Trip meter benefits to calculate the distance traveled by the vehicle. As the price line suggest, Kratos R holds much better performance and designations like the access to additional charging network for free for a time period of 2 years.
