Tesla Debuts In Hungary & Romania

Tesla Debuts In Hungary & Romania

Tesla, the EV manufacturer from the US, and one of the world’s leaders in electric technology started their expansion further into Europe. The American car manufacturer is expanding towards eastern central Europe. This expansion is recently seen in Hungary and Romania where Tesla’s electric models are available for order.

The Expansion Of Tesla

Currently, Tesla is the most valuable car manufacturer in the world, crossing companies, the likes of the Volkswagen Group, Daimler, Toyota, and so forth. But, all the while, Tesla, the company is still growing. Their products haven’t reached places all around the world, so there is still room for growth.

For the past few months, Tesla has been talking about its expansion into central and eastern Europe, as there is a big potential for the manufacturer in these places. The countries are homes to a lot of people who would like an easy and green way of transportation.

So, when Tesla comes in with their models that, in fact, in some countries have a huge discount, to push people to prefer electricity over gas. People will think that buying an EV or Tesla is good and beneficial than a gas-powered vehicle. An example of such a situation can be seen in Norway, where Tesla’s models dominate a lot.

All is not well for the expansion of Tesla. Tesla has a bonus and downset. The bonus is that the customer will be able to charge their vehicle at home, or one of the public superchargers, and at most times for free or for a price lower than gas.

But, inversely, the downfall is that Tesla, for its expansion will have to build superchargers. Why? If in a scenario where Tesla doesn’t build superchargers, then no one would buy a Tesla, let alone an EV, and this fact is well-known by the folks at Tesla.

That is what they were doing for the last year. They were deploying charging and service stations all around central and eastern Europe. The last, tesla deployed charging and service stations here:

Tesla In Eastern & Central Europe

Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men and the CEO of Tesla, last year said Hoping to open in Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia & most of Eastern Europe early next year. Finally, we will do Nikola Tesla proud by having his cars in his countries of origin!”

Now Tesla has also come up with introducing its online configurator for their models in Hungary and Romania.

Granted there are two stores in Budapest and the other in Bucharest so that people have time to get used to the Tesla models. They already have supercharges in those markets, perhaps might even build up more in recent times. The proof can be seen in the site’s find us map. Also, as per the map, Tesla is to have a service center in Budapest.

Usually, the manufacturer can start orders without having a service center, but doesn’t start delivering the models until there is at least one service center in the market. This fact was hinted at by Elon Musk, where he said that Tesla’s biggest demand drivers are for more Supercharger stations and service centers, which allow new buyers to buy a Tesla with ease.

Most probably, after Romania and Hungary, Tesla might consider the move towards the east into Ukraine. In Ukraine, Tesla is planning for some superchargers going towards Kyiv.

Tesla To Expand Further

Tesla being one of the most valuable companies as of the present is also trying to branch out into other markets for more success. Granted eastern and central Europe does make a huge chunk of this expansion progress.

At the same time, they are looking into branching out into the Asian market. Granted, they do have a Gigafactory in Shanghai in China. But, the number of Tesla models sold in Asia does not come into comparison with the number that is being sold in North America and Europe.

Recently, Tesla has registered as a company in Bangalore in India, hinting at an expansion into the car market in India, where numerous brands like GM, Subaru have failed to tap into the potential. Rather, even though Tesla models are available in Japan, the sales haven’t taken off.

Ending Note

The varied approach of Tesla to new markets is what makes their company a bit more special than other manufacturers. The manufacturer also intends to expand into the Asian market, with India in its sights. We will not be able to say how much the models will be able to prosper in the new market.
