General Motors has made a powerful resurgence in its Hummer brand as an all-electric sub-brand of GMC by introducing a Pickup and an SUV model. GMC Hummer EV is ranked with the position of the World’s first all-electric super truck. This achievement is owed due to its versatile operational functions, cutting-edge technologies, high-tech inner cabin amenities, etc. It comes with four trim levels that are Hummer EV2 Pickup, Hummer EV2X Pickup, Hummer EV3X Pickup, and the most expensive Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickup that are competing with the top brands like Tesla, Rivian, Bollinger, and Ford.
Exterior Design Of GMC Hummer EV
The broad shape and glossy design of Hummer are renovated to make a trail-ready appearance in the GMC Hummer EV. All the Hummer models will be with a black palate whereas the color variants for the body frame is bountiful. The pickup truck comes in 9 colors Hot Sauce Red, Stinger Yellow, Sand Dune, Acid Green, Deep Forest Green, Reef Blue, Strato Blue, Spec Gray, and Stellar Black, however, the first edition of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV will only be available in Moonshot Green. Edition 1 will be displayed in a White and Black combination.
Hummer EV that is 216.9 inches longer, 86.7 inches wider, and with a wheelbase of 135.6 inches comes with an Infinity roof comprising three transparent panels that are similar to the normal panoramic sunroof. But, it can be removed and stove in the front trunk part called ‘Frunk’ and hence, this convertible pattern is much the same as in Jeep Gladiator. The MultiPro tailgate in the pickup truck can be aligned in six different patterns needed for multiple uses and it was innovated for the Sierra 1500 to get a normal tailgate. It is also featured with full underbody armor and a power tonneau cover to enclose the rear storage area. The specially designed Goodyear tires of 35 inches help much in off-roading.
Interior Design Of GMC Hummer EV
The cabin seems to be inspired by the GM’s Sierra crew cab pickup truck with 5- foot long bed. Also, the classic T-top design in the 1970s and 1980s model cars like GM Sports and Turbo cars is too renewed in it. We are expecting both models with two rows that could seat up to five passengers with spacious comfort.
The infotainment system includes Bose 14 speaker audio system featuring the center point and Electric vehicle sound enhancement. All the GMC models come with a giant 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for drivers. The graphics used for EV’s infotainment interface was done by the association with Epic Games. In addition, the connectivity of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, and the GM’s OnStar telematics system is standard on it. The Lunar shadow or Lunar Horizon interior color scheme combined with the Tech Bronze accents illuminates the interior. There is also a Moon boot footprint on the dead panel and speaker grille. Engine And Performance Of GMC Hummer EV
GMC has mentioned the All-electric powertrain available in 2-motor and 3- motor variants on both the SUV model and pickup truck. This four-wheel-drive system is standard and comes along with the four-wheel-drive steering that aids the rear wheel to twist independently to reduce the turning radii. Hummer EV with three motors offers up to 1000hp on the pickup and 850hp on the SUV producing an output of 11,500 pound-feet of torque. In the pickup, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 3 seconds and 3.5 seconds in the SUV using the truck’s Watts to Freedom launch control driving mode. The all-wheel drive steering and selectable Extract mode uplift the vehicle around 6 inches for enabling seamless rock crawling. The Crabwalk mode allows diagonal driving at low speeds by keeping the front and rear wheels in phase. All these thriving performances and engine operations amaze the onlookers.
Battery, Charging, And Range Of GMC Hummer EV
The electricity needed for the motor is fed from the GM’s new Ultium battery pack technology that helps to exhibit a claimed range of 350 miles in the pickup and 300 miles in the SUV. The 800 Volt electrical framework with 350kW rapid charging potential will help to get 100 miles of range in just ten minutes. But, if you don’t have a DC fast charging station, then you can use a regular public charging port or through a provided adapter at home by taking prolonged time.
Safety In GMC Hummer EV
GMC Hummer EV is guaranteed with high-tech driver assistance technology and Super Cruise driver assistance suite that enables autonomous driving and switches lanes without intervening with the driver. This Super Cruise system is similar to the semi-autonomous Autopilot element in Tesla. There are 17 or 18 cameras for Ultra vision that offers a 360-degree view of the vehicle and make it easier to park, tow, or to change the lane. The rear and front underbody camera with standard HD surround vision to assist while parking. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, pedestrian detection, rear cross-path detection, lane departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision detection with mechanical braking are also expected to be standard in them.
Storage, Towing And Pay loading Capacity Of GMC Hummer EV
It is estimated that around 81.8 cubic feet of storage space are offered by Hummer EV. The cargo area has profuse storage space and it can be expanded by folding the rear seats in SUV or 5- footbed in a pickup model. This estimation doesn’t count the space under the floor and in the side trim. The power eTrunk under the front hood endows doubled space in both models, in addition to the cubicle underneath the floor of the SUV cargo area.
The exact towing capacity and payload capacity aren’t released yet. But due to the urge to compete with the Tesla Cyber truck, Rivian’s R1T and Rivian R1S models, the payload capacity will range between 1500 and 3500 pounds, and towing capacity is estimated to be from 7500 to 11,000 pounds.

Then, the Hummer EV3X is aimed to blast off by the September of 2022 whereas the Hummer EV2X and Hummer EV2 will be on sale in 2023 and 2024.
